Calendars & RSS feeds + Local Magik

If a calendar or feed can be shared as a link, a Magik Button can read it — no account to connect, no key.

What is the Local Magik Calendars & RSS feeds connector?

It's how Magik Buttons — one-press workflows from Local Magik — read the calendars and feeds you already have. Give a Button a calendar's iCal link (Google Calendar, Outlook, Apple, a venue or booking system's .ics export) and it reads the events in the window it needs, with recurring events expanded and cancelled ones skipped. Give it an RSS, Atom or XML link and it reads the items. There's no account to connect and no key, and nothing is ever written back.

What Buttons do with Calendars & RSS feeds

How to use Calendars & RSS feeds

Copy the calendar’s iCal address (in Google Calendar: Settings → your calendar → “Secret address in iCal format”) or the feed’s RSS link.
Paste it into the Button that uses it — usually it only asks once.
That’s it: no sign-in, no key.

Local Magik only reads the link it’s given — nothing is ever written back.

What Local Magik can see in Calendars & RSS feeds

We fetch the one link a Button is given: the calendar’s events in the window it asks for (recurring events expanded, cancelled ones skipped), or the items in an RSS, Atom or XML feed. There’s no account to connect, and nothing is ever written back to the calendar or feed.
